NETSCC’s Management Information System (MIS) is an integrated way for applicants, reviewers, and panel and board members to interact with NETS programmes. The MIS is being introduced in phases during 2012 and 2013, and is, so, far being used to submit and assess applications for funding, and to manage and monitor projects that are underway.

There is plenty of help and support available in using the new MIS, and the feedback from users is increasingly positive; helping to shape future enhancement of the system. Additional functionality during 2013 will bring the MIS into use for all stages of the research pathway, from topic identification to publication and dissemination.

The MIS is designed to enable NETS programmes to target, fund, plan and co-ordinate research more effectively, contributing to the achievement of NIHR objectives. In the future this will join up with other IT developments across NIHR. An initial step is the recent adoption of the Standard Application Form across all NIHR funding programmes, providing a consistent approach and experience to applying for NIHR funding and managing applications.

Submit feedback on the NETSCC MIS

Research applicants use the NETSCC MIS to submit their application for funding using the new NIHR Standard Application Form.

The Standard Application Form is different to the form you may have used for previous applications, so please familiarise yourself with it before starting your application. An example is available here and guidance notes on completing the form are available for each call.

External reviewers use the NETSCC MIS to accept or decline invitations to review research proposals and to provide us with their reviews, for applications submitted on the standard application form. A guide for reviewers on using the MIS can be found here.

Chief investigators of funded projects use the NETSCC MIS to submit their project progress reports, output notifications, final reports and protocol change requests. A guide for Chief Investigators on using the MIS can be found here.

NETS Board and Panel members use the NETSCC MIS to download papers for their meetings. A guide for Board Members on using the MIS can be found here.
