Dementia Themed Call

04 January 2013

The increasing health burden for patients and carers and the potential economic impact of dementia in the UK supports the need for high-quality research on the management and treatment of dementia.

Reducing the burden from dementia is a priority for the UK Government. The NIHR has committed funding of £22 million for research into dementia for a total of 21 projects, which arose from a call issued in early 2011.

NETSCC is managing eleven of these projects, six within the Health Services and Delivery (HS&DR) Programme, three within the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme, and two within the Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation (EME) Programme.
